What it's all about

Welcome to everyone who takes the times to visit me here in my little corner of the internet, or as I affectionately term it, the webbernets. In the entries to fallow I will share with you my opinions of books that I have recently finished and memories of old favorites. This is something that I have thought about doing for a long time and have finally stopped asking myself how and simply started off the best I can.

I would like to point out that all the things I say here are my thoughts, impressions, guesses, and opinions. I represent no one but myself and I do not expect anyone else to agree with me. That is the wonderful thing about literature, we are supposed to have different ideas and thoughts, each one of us, about the same piece of writing. When we come to a book, or a news column, or any other piece of writing, we bring with us all the experience of our individual lives. We use these experiences to understand what we are reading, and to compare it to them so that we might relate or find relevance. And as that is never the same for any two people we will never have the same ideas about what we have read. So please do not take offense if I review a book that you love with less ardor then you felt while reading it. It is nothing personal, it is simply my opinion.

The reviews will be done in two parts. The first will be a short one or two paragraphs, the 'At a glance' column. It will not contain any spoilers and will consist mostly of my impressions, how well I liked the piece, and if I would recommend it to others, and if so what sort of person. The second portion, 'Extended Musings', of the review will address the book in greater detail and will have spoiler warnings. Here I will allow myself to speak in detail about the book's merits and flaws.

Through this blog I hope to meet many new friends and to learn a great deal about literature by sharing with others. I can already feel a new chapter in my life as a reader opening. Thank you again for joining me, I am so very glad you came.
